Frankly speaking, a couple of times my graphic design ideas was stolen by unfair customers, even though I didn’t send them my works in good resolution or vector. You know, to repeat something is much easier and cheaper than to create from scratch. So now I don’t even think of the project in graphic design business before getting paid at least half of the money.

Sometimes I was upset that work which I’ve done was much harder than it has been paid for, therefore I can much better evaluate real cost of my work currently.

Photoshop MSU Image Restoration is a great plugin for Photoshop CS2 and CS3 (probably also working in other versions) to erase unwanted objects such as accidental people in photo or in my case I wanted to remove ugly trolleybus wires which really corrupted photo of cool big board in Warsaw. What to do if you’d like to impress your mom or granddad making especially valuable for them old faded photo look vivid and colored as though it was taken yesterday? Every graphic designer should have good typing skills, in my opinion. Recently I discovered a great free app Stamina Typing Tutor which helps me now to improve touch typing, in particular, for writing for this blog. After the training course with Stamina, you will be able to type long paragraphs, use shortcuts and Instant Messengers without ever looking at the keyboard. (more…)

Up to 100 graphic designer jobs postings are available every week across Canada. Though, someone say that most jobs are never advertised and only about 5% of job seekers will ever find a job using a job board, it is still rather useful way to find a job, besides networking, company research and letters of intro to hiring managers at your dream company. Surely there are much more than 10 sites with graphic designer job postings in Canada but I included in my list only those resources which contains a lot of jobs postings for a graphic designer and also they are easy to use. Tip: in my opinion, mass mailing your resume could have much bigger effect than personal cover letter for each ad. (more…)
