1. To start with this Avatar movie Photoshop tutorial you need to find the right photo. It means that human and Na’vi photos you will be combining should have the same head position as well as size and proportions.

2. Insert two images as separate layers in the same Photoshop document. Adjust the position and size of the upper image (human) using Transform tools. If you decrease the opacity of the layer, it will be easier to work with.

3. Select, cut and paste into new layers features of the human face: lips, eyes, chin and cheekbones. You need to adjust and move these features using Transform and Liquify tools so that they perfectly fit with the blue Na’vi Neytiri face from Avatar.

4. Now you need to merge and blend the new human features with the blue Na’vi face. Using Color Replacement tool, pick up with Eyedropper the right color on the Nav’i layer and paint over human features on each layer.

5. To rebuild the Na’vi skin patterns you need to create and save a new pattern with Patternmaker. Using Pattern Stamp tool choose created pattern and paint over human features with the blue Na’vi texture. se Clone Stamp Tool as well to add white dots where needed.
