Blog downtime caused by Bad Behavior plugin

Really bad behaviorMy apologies to all readers and visitors of Graphic design for life! While I was too busy last days, hosting company blocked my account for ’suspicious background activity’ which was caused by Bad Behavior Wordpress plugin (Bad Behavior should protect your site from spambots). I have to delete it immediately and give advice to everybody not use Bad Behavior until it will become 100% safe or change principles of its work.

  1. Your hosting company has no idea what they’re talking about.

Bad Behavior is perfectly safe and does not generate anything that could be called “suspicious background activity.”

I would need to know more information in order to determine if Bad Behavior was the real cause of the problem, or if it was your hosting company, or a denial of service attack launched against your site, or some other problem.

But since you didn’t contact me, I couldn’t help you.

  2. Well, I was really shocked that I can’t access my blog and this situation was going for 3 days as I knew now from stat. I thought my blog was hacked! My hosting company told me that some of my scripts made ’suspicious background activity’ (their words) and they blocked my account because of it.
Since I don’t use any potential dangerous plugins or scripts and had no problems before installing Bad Behavior I thought it was your plugin.
    It’s a pity if I’m wrong…
