Branding agency Interbrand claims to create the world’s first dynamic logo. Using new, modern approach to visual brand identification they developed new logo for Russian Investment Company Troika dialog. Graphic part of the logo contains lines and triangles and exists only as dynamic logo. Everywhere where it’s possible the logo will be dynamic 3D object. TinEye: identify image usage on the web

Now you don’t need to use watermarks to protect your photo on the web. TinEye is the image search engine which use image identification technology to tell you where and how image appears all over the web – even if it has been cropped or heavily modified. Using pattern recognition algorithms, TinEye creates a unique ‘fingerprint’ for each image. When you submit an image to TinEye, it compares its fingerprint is with TinEye search index. As a result you get a detailed list of any websites using that image.

Google Logo designer Ruth Kedar

Ruth Kedar is an artist and designer who designed Google’s Official Logo and Registered US Trademark which became later famous around the world. Since Google didn’t have money to pay a designer at first, the first version was created in 1998 by Sergey Brin using GIMP.

Born in Brazil, Ruth Kedar received in Israel a degree in Architecture and moved to USA to attend the Stanford University Masters Program in Design resulting in master thesis on Playing cards design. Ruth Kedar was introduced to Larry Page and Sergei Brin in 1999 at Stanford. She presented them with some preliminary design ideas which they liked and she was hired to design Google logo

Blog downtime caused by Bad Behavior plugin

My apologies to all readers and visitors of Graphic design for life! While I was too busy last days, hosting company blocked my account for ’suspicious background activity’ which was caused by Bad Behavior Wordpress plugin (Bad Behavior should protect your site from spambots). I have to delete it immediately and give advice to everybody not use Bad Behavior until it will become 100% safe or change principles of its work.

Edit images and docs uploaded to Box.net with third party applications

Box.net provides to users new feature called OpenBox which lets you edit and do more with the files on Box.net. After uploading your files only once on Box.net you have choice of 3rd party web applications to edit your files, convert and send them. Now you will need to upload files to the web only once.

You can edit your pictures with online photo editors Picnik or Snipshot, send it to a friend on Facebook, add a link to it on Twitter, turn your image into a custom t-shirt on Zazzle, turn any photo into wallpaper and any mp3 into a ringtone with Myxer, fax any document in your Box.net account with eFax, edit documents online with Zoho, get them signed with the EchoSign, view CAD files (2D and 3D) in your browser with Autodesk Freewheel and post files from Box.net directly to your blog (compatible with Blogger, Wordpress, and LiveJournal).

Since OpenBox is an open platform, allowing for developers to contribute to the Box network, there will be a lot of new applications for over one million users integrated soon.

Awesome edit Flickr photos with Picnik

Flickr users will be able soon to edit photos more extensively than just rotate and crop, using the Flash based online photo editor. The deal has been signed and Picnik tools will be integrated via an iframe within next few months. I should say that currently Flickr users can edit their photos using Picnik but only within Picnik work area (there are also built in support for Photobucket, Picasa and Facebook albums.).
